What is a string machine?
A string machine is an electrical device that constantly dispenses the same length of string. The length can be adjusted. The string is fed through the machine from a roll of string and cut off. The machine is usually powered by 24 V from a pipe-rail trolley so that it can be moved on the trolley and be powered at the same time.
When is a string machine used?
A string machine is used in greenhouses when starting off a new crop. The string is suspended from the crop wires above each plant. When the plants begin to grow, they are secured to these strings so that they can grow upwards without toppling over.
