80 Berkvens pipe rail trolleys delivered to Schenkeveld

‘Passion for perfection’ is Schenkeveld’s familiar slogan. In pursuit of that very perfection, Schenkeveld has joined forces with Steenks Service to upgrade its fleet at all four of its locations in the Westland region of the Netherlands. This upgrade included no fewer than 80 Berkvens pipe rail trolleys – high-quality trolleys with the ability to last for years.

New fleet with Berkvens pipe rail trolleys

Schenkeveld is a rapidly-growing business that has doubled its operating area over the past four years. The business is constantly on the lookout for ways to improve and to achieve a stable future. Just this year, the tomato grower constructed a completely new greenhouse complex in Rijsenhout, extending its area to 85 hectares. Its entire fleet has also come under scrutiny, with the decision to replace all old pipe rail trolleys with new models.

Customised Berkvens pipe rail trolleys

Schenkeveld was on the lookout for high-quality trolleys that are resistant to disinfectants, which are widely used in tomato growing to minimise the risk from viruses. Following a consultation, we jointly decided that Berkvens GL-D pipe rail trolleys would fully match their needs and preferences. These pipe rail trolleys also satisfy the latest European regulations, ensuring that workers can continue to work safely. The pipe rail trolleys were also customised, with all trolleys made using stainless steel, a sustainable material that is highly resistant to disinfectants. This will help to extend the service life of the trolleys considerably.

Pipe rail trolleys with immersion tray

Schenkeveld also decided to fit all pipe rail trolleys with a stainless steel immersion tray, intended to help prevent the spread of viruses within the greenhouse. The pipe rail trolleys are equipped with a timer that begins to run the moment the trolleys are put into use. When the timer sounds, workers need to disinfect their hands in the tray. The trolley can then only be moved once this has been done. This way, Schenkeveld can ensure maximum hygiene for years to come.
