Jan van der Knaap nursery invests in new tow tractors from Steenks Service

In September, Jan van der Knaap nursery made a new investment with a view to saving on labour – owner Jan van der Knaap purchased two brand-new Spijkstaal 301 tow tractors from Steenks Service. The purchase will help to optimise the nursery’s internal transport systems. Sander Zuidgeest of Steenks Service personally handed over the keys to the new purchases.

Optimisation of internal transport

The Spijkstaal 301 tow tractors will help Jan van der Knaap nursery transport its wide range of different seasonal products. During the busy cultivation periods, the nursery has difficulty finding enough staff. The tow tractors will help the nursery to save on labour, meaning that fewer staff will be needed. They will help to make transporting products faster, whilst also lightening the load for existing staff. The heavy trolleys no longer need to be pushed to the storage area by hand.

Spijkstaal 301 tow tractors

Spijkstaal 301 tow tractors can move a weight of up to 1500 kg. In addition, the tractors are very easy to drive, which means that they can transport and turn on the concrete paths of the greenhouse without difficulty. The tow tractors are fully electric, so there is no harm to staff, or to products, from exhaust emissions. The tow tractors for Jan van der Knaap were supplied with the company logo on the side.
