Noorland Paprika chooses new MetoSWT spray robot

Steenks Service recently delivered the MetoSWT spray robot to Noorland Paprika. The cultivation company from IJsselmuiden expanded by 2.5 hectares in 2020, so they now grow peppers on almost 10 hectares. This also means that there is an even larger surface that must be combated against, among other things, damage from pests such as caterpillars and spider mites.

New solution for Noorland Paprika

Before the expansion, the cultivation company already owned a Meto spraying machine including a hose. However, the company works with a chain conveyor on the path, so that a hose is not desired. To prevent a harvest trolley from getting in the way of the spraying machine and vice versa, Noorland has chosen to purchase the Berg Hortimotive MetoSWT spray robot from Steenks Service.

Berg Hortimotive has developed the MetoSWT spray robot to prevent unnecessary hoses on the path. With the spray trolley, the crop and facade can be sprayed locally, while the path remains free for other activities. The spray robot is equipped with two spray booms, both of which can also be adjusted independently of each other. This makes it possible to direct one spray boom on the crop and the other spray boom on the facade.

The tank of the MetoSWT spray robot is easy to fill and has a capacity of 300 liters. Also, the frame is provided with stainless steel plating, which protects it against the agents that are used on the surface and has a long lifespan. Finally, the spray booms can be set using the easy-to-use touchscreen, which also shows the most important measured values.
