What is a tomato hook?
Tomato hooks are hooks that you can wind string around. These can be suspended in the greenhouse for tomato cultivation. These hooks are available in different sizes with or without free fall.
What are tomato hooks used for?
Tomato hooks are suspended from the crop wires in the greenhouse when starting off a new crop. A hook is suspended above each plant. The string is secured to the plant as it begins to grow. This allows the plant to grow upwards along the string, and prevents it from toppling over. A tomato plant will continue to grow taller during cultivation, however, so to ensure that the working height remains optimal and that the plant continues to grow upwards in a straight line, it is lowered. This is done by unwinding the string by rotating the hook.
