Doef’s Greenhouses has grown peppers on a small scale (2- 4 acres ) for over 25 years in Alberta, Canada. In 2020 we started construction on a new 13 acre range, and now in 2022 we are completing the second 13 acre range. We will soon have 30 acres of sweet bell pepper production. We had to adapt to new and more efficient ways of working as we expanded. One of the first jobs every season is tying strings. We were used to trying 50,000 strings. Now we have to tie almost 700,000 strings.
This is why we decided to purchase a few of the TO0000101 String Tying machines. These machines are simple to install, simple to program, and simple to operate. Our workers can tie well over 1000 strings per hour. The speed is a huge benefit, but equally important is the strings are not tangled, and they are all exactly the same length.
Having known then what I know now, I would have purchased these machines back when we only had 2 acres!
