Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants purchases third Stefix ground cover sweeper

Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants recently expanded its fleet with a third Stefix 135 ground cover sweeper. The Stefix 135 is a sweeper that has been specially developed by Steenks Service to help keep anti-ground cover growing floors clean. All three of Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants’ sites now have their own Stefix 135.

Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants has 12.5 hectares of greenhouse space with anti-ground cover floors and concrete floors for the cultivation of a wide variety of bulbs and plants. Two of the three sites were already using a Stefix 135 ground cover sweeper, but the third site now also has access to one. ‘When the old sweeper at the third location gave up the ghost last week, we knew that we needed a new machine. We quickly opted for a third Stefix 135,’ says Ron van der Meer (Team Leader Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants). ‘The machine works very well at the other sites, and we can clean both ground cover floors and concrete floors well with it. We ordered the machine on Wednesday and it was at our barn on Friday, so we could start sweeping immediately.’

The Stefix 135 has been specially developed by Steenks Service to clean anti-ground cover floors. In 2022, we sold the 200th Stefix 135, which has been available from Steenks Service since 2016. The machine sweeps and vacuums up all dust, dirt, germs and seeds from the floor. ‘Vreugdenhil previously used a rotating brush to sweep the ground cover, but doing that moves the dirt and causes the cover to become compacted. The Stefix does not have this problem, as it sweeps and vacuums at the same time. With a capacity of one hectare per hour, the Stefix 135 is a better solution,’ says Sander Zuidgeest (co-owner of Steenks Service).
